Campaign Issues
My key priorities and why you should vote for me
I am committed to finding and delivering practical solutions for the challenges facing Bourne area and our local villages.
Our campaign
This focuses on all of those critical areas that directly impact our community's well-being and its long-term future.
Sorting roads goes without saying, but other issues are all central to creating a greener, more sustainable and thriving West Sussex for everyone.
Roads and local public transport
Repairing and relaying roads, plus more connected bus and train options for all residents, more vital community bus funding and flexible transport services.
Renewable energy to reduce costs
Championing local renewable energy projects to power our homes and businesses sustainably and to reduce every household's energy bills.
Stop river & harbour sewage
I'm committed to the ongoing fight to end sewage discharges and to protect our precious harbour environment and to save our local chalk streams.
Environment and flood protection
Working with Parishes to prevent flooding due to climate change and to preserve and enhance the Bourne area's natural beauty, wildlife and biodiversity.

Experience and delivery for Bourne
Voters recognise I bring five years of valuable experience in delivering projects with support across political parties, like the Bourne Community Bus I founded and funded.
I will work tirelessly with our five local Parishes and West Sussex County Council officers to deliver exactly what residents say they need. This includes giving households access to lower-cost renewable energy, making our roads safer and championing local healthcare for all.
I'll also secure better and affordable public transport, cut sewage releases into our rivers and Chichester Harbour, and urge Sussex Police to increase community policing presence in the Bourne villages.

My key commitments for Bourne's future
I propose creating a packaged solution for Parishes to adopt renewable energy, reducing home energy costs.
I will continue the road safety program I initiated in 2021 as well as making active travel easier between villages.
I will push our MP to secure government commitment for improved, easy access to doctors and NHS dentists.
Furthermore, I will keep working with Southern Water managers to drastically cut sewage releases, aiming for under ten storm sewage overflows per year by 2030.
I will also work with Sussex Police and Councillors to encourage trials of community policing in Bourne area.

Why these issues matter to residents
Our communities must protect the environment for future generations. That's why I founded Save Our Harbour Villages in 2021. Key to this is providing local renewable energy and tackling sewage pollution so we can all enjoy the local harbour and our beautiful South Downs.
With road vehicle increases, due to housing development, we need to review local road conditions, reduce speed limits and make them safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
We need to improve all of our transport and active travel infrastructure too. This is vital so as we age, with 30% of residents over 65, we can maintain independence and continue to enjoy life, with easy access to local facilities.
"I am committed to working tirelessly for the residents of Bourne, focusing on practical solutions that improve our daily lives and protect our valuable environment for the future."
